    The guys make them practically as neatly packaged as the commercial brands, and they're very portable. My primary interest would be to keep a freezer going to freeze ice blocks. Freezers hold their cold pretty well. Would only need to plug in for short periods. Freeze blocks of ice, transfer to a refrigerator to work as a type of icebox.

Have been freeze-drying fruits and vegs, as well as having a dehydrator, water bath and pressure canners, and LOTS of canning jars and lids.

When it first started freezing quite a bit of frost accumulated around the rubber gasket. Everything seems fine pressure holds etc. just checking to see if that is normal. do you recommend pre-freezing before going into the unit.
