  2. Ultimate Classic Rock: Top 50 American Bands of All-Time

    forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/ultimate-classic-rock-top-50-american-bands-of...

Cincinnati, OH. Temptations, Supremes, Ronettes, Shangri-Las, the Miracles are NOT bands…. They are groups…. A common mistake…. The list has the Byrds way too low. The Beach Boys ARE a rock band and being listed as #1 is totally legit and correct. I’d knock a few off the top ten and put Dan, Sly and Allmans in the 10.

  3. Ultimate Classic Rock: Top 50 American Bands of All-Time

    forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/ultimate-classic-rock-top-50-american-bands-of...

According to the thread title this is supposed to be a list of Classic Rock. I understand that the English language is dynamic and ever-changing, and that nomenclatures shift and evolve in time. But the following artists just don’t fall under the Classic Rock category 50. Foo Fighters 49. The Flaming Lips 47. Stone Temple Pilots 46.

TRAFFIC: "Roamin' Thru' the Gloamin' with 40,000 Headmen." I can think of dozens of worse songs by both groups, but pointing the above two out when you have "I'm Bugged at My Old Man" and " (Sometimes I Feel So) Uninspired" makes zero sense to me. The Worst Classic Rock Songs. Jeff Chandler, Oct 5, 2024. #1.

In the mid '70s 3XY in Melbourne would have 'The Ultimate Rock Concert' over a weekend and play a mixture of live albums, bootlegs and King Biscuit Flower Hour. I remember they played an early version of Dark Side of the Moon and an audience recording of Thick as a Brick. At the end they played a Beatles bootleg.

  10. Time-Life Music CD's - Steve Hoffman Music Forums

    forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/time-life-music-cds.1147589

Here and there this has been talked about. The Time-Life Music CD's, produced and sold in the 1990's, have mastering that sounds relatively natural and analog-like and are worth owning if you like the music on them. I am not referring to the CD's from Time-Life Music that were sold at retail during this period--I don't have experience with ...

  11. UFO "Classic Rock Series" discs - Steve Hoffman Music Forums

    forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/ufo-classic-rock-series-discs.200451

I like the Chrysalis cds best. I also have the BGO's which I also like, especially the 2 fers of the 1st four albums. The Japan mini lps from the late 90's really arent too bad either if you prefer a louder mastering. The Classic Rock Series arent very good and the recent remasters arent much better, thats just my opinion though.
