Cash price for 91 octane / $4.44 for 9.5 gallons =. Cheapest option: Cash price regular 87 octane / $4.14 for 9.5 gallons =. So here in California, I’d save $4 dollars filling up at half tank of gas if I were to pay cash and choose regular 87 octane vs. most expensive option 91 and pay with card.

Chevron TECHRON (a HD fuel system cleaner) is a component of Top Tier gasolines and is recommended by GM. A full dose is recommended only once in 5,000 miles. A 20 oz. bottle.

If unavailable, unleaded gasoline with a posted octane rating of 87 may be used, but will result in reduced performance and driveability.
For 11 years I have been using BJ's 93 octane in my Z4 and 325. When I sold these cars (Z4 - 45K miles, 325 - 65K miles,) both their engines purrrred. And, for the past 4 years of ATS ownership, I have continued to use BJ's 93 octane without an engine problem, or a performance problem.

I thought that it was kind of strange. I also though that it was strange that the 3.2L requires premium gas 91-93. Reply Like.

Suppose you had 1/2 tank of 87 and decided to fill with 93. That gives you a full tank of 90 - not enough to make much difference. Resist the advice and urge to dump various snake oils into the gasoline tank and oil pan. Totally unnecessary. Run a TopTier gasoline, brand immaterial - it's all pretty much the same "gasoline".
