The BMW 3 Series (E46) is the fourth generation of the BMW 3 Series range of compact executive cars manufactured by German automaker BMW. Produced from 1997 to 2006, it was the successor to the E36 3 Series , which ceased production in 2000.
Work Completed: Worm and roller steering box replaced; existing steering shaft welded to replacement unit. Drum brake slave cylinders replaced and shoes refurbished. Gear linkage repaired. Dynamo replaced with alternator; new drive belt installed, old regulator removed, polarity of coils and battery rotated from positive to negative earth.
The BMW N42 is a DOHC four-cylinder petrol engine which replaced the BMW M43 and was produced from 2001-2004. BMW N47 is a four-cylinder common rail diesel engine that has many improvements over its predecessor, the M47. In 2014 it was replaced with the B47 . The USA market never received B47 engine.
