Henry Passolt House (1105 S. Jefferson): The Passolt House was built in 1868 by Henry Passolt, a Saginaw soap manufacturer. The architect was Ludwig Bode, who designed this house to be as fireproof as possible. The house is a two-story Italianate structure with double brick walls with a lead inner casing and wood floors laid over concrete.
The Saginaw Central City Historic Residential District contains approximately three hundred and twenty structures located within a forty block area. About nine percent of the structures in the district were built before 1875; these are primarily Carpenter Gothic residences. The bulk of the houses date from the mid-1870s through the mid-1890s.
