On May 31, 2023, CSRET rescued six puppy mill breeders from North Texas—four females and two males—with the help of eight volunteers who traveled about 1,200 miles and spent 52 man-hours. These dogs had been repeatedly bred and were all at least nine years old.

In 2009, we were awarded the Pedigree Breed Rescue of the Year at the Westminster Dog Show. Dedicated volunteers are the heart of Cocker Spaniel Rescue of East Texas. Currently we have about 50 volunteers and 30 foster homes.
Re-homing Cocker Spaniels. If we had a waiting list of adopters, Cocker Spaniel Rescue would be able to accept any and all cocker spaniels. However, with around 100 dogs waiting for homes, we have to make some hard choices. The few applicants we do get want a young, healthy dog with no behavior problems.
The dogs on this page are part of Cocker Spaniel Rescue of East Texas' Forever Foster Program. These dogs may have chronic medical conditions requiring ongoing medical expenses or they may be of an advanced age or for some other reason CSR-ET feels their changes of being adopted are very slight.

Cocker Spaniel Rescue of East Texas may verify employment, confirm home ownership, contact landlord and/or contact your veterinarian. If a home visit is required it usually takes one to two weeks depending on the availability of a volunteer to conduct the home visit at a time mutually convenient with the applicant.
