Does anyone know where I can obtain 'hard' copies of past issues of the 'Reef Hobbyist Magazine'. I emailed them directly, and was told that they don't send copies through the mail. Their website does offer past issues in PDF format. However, I'm not a real fan of PDF e-mags. If anyone here has s...

Posted February 7, 2021. Just now, Tigahboy said: Decided to make this thread a general macroalgae tank thread instead of creating separate ones for each of my tanks. Here's a few of the latest shots from my UNS 5N. Battled dinos with this tank for the past few weeks, but seem to have them under control now (but planning to add a UV sterilizer ...

Though I'm sure those clams and super nice torches will easily fill in that giant hole! The two biggest bits of damage the tank took (and is still very clearly recovering from) is the Yellow Tips lost about 15% of the colony (though grew way more than that during the losses) and the Idaho Grape Cap lost a good 50%.

The first three posts, while informative, have gotten extremely long. It's a good idea to cut down on the white space (i.e. double or even triple spacing between individual links or photos) and possibly moving some information to other relevant threads, such as moving photos to the threads devoted to different algae groups and the external links to the links directory (under the library tab ...

to be honest, it's interesting but generally not relevant to the discussion here. I've heard the same thing, that leafy macros have higher HUFA contents than branching macros (although a paper or two would be nice), but when it comes to feeding fish, the fish generally 'know' what they need. in that sense, a certain individual fish may prefer one type of algae with a certain nutrient makeup ...
