Grover Hot Springs State Park is a state park of California, United States, containing natural hot springs on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada. California Hot Springs, formerly Deer Creek Hot Springs, is a census-designated place in Tulare County, California, United States. [3] California Hot Springs is 20 miles (32 km) east of Ducor. [4] California Hot Springs has a post office with ZIP code 93207. [5] The population was 50 at the 2020 census, up from 37 at the 2010 census.
The Little Caliente hot springs are located 4.8 miles (7.7 km) away at 1,600 feet (490 m). The hot mineral water emerges from the springs at 105 °F (41 °C). There are several primitive rock-lined soaking pools. From Big Caliente, head north at Juncal Campground.
In 2019 the National Park Service finalized a management plan for the hot springs pertaining to visitor use and cultural and natural resource preservation. Three new camping areas are being developed approximately 100 feet or more from the spring sources to support car camping as well as walk-in campers. [3]
The park is closed during the hot summer months. Camping is open 24 hours and campsites can be reserved as far as a year in advance. Day use from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. [ 2 ] Pool hours are from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm with later hours on weekends for campers and early mornings (9:30am–10:30am) reserved for adults.
