Jobcentre Plus as an executive agency ceased to exist as of 4 October 2011. Services offered by Jobcentre Plus are now offered directly by the Department for Work and Pensions. Although the Jobcentre Plus corporate brand remains in place at the present time, it functions only as a public brand of the Department, rather than a separate entity. [1]

1885–1918: The existing parliamentary borough, so much of the municipal borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme as was not already included in the parliamentary borough, the local government district of Tunstall, and so much of the parish of Wolstanton as lay south of a line drawn along the centre of the road leading west from Chatterley railway station to the boundary of Audley parish.
Following that, it became part of the Wolstanton United Urban District until 1932, when it was added to the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme. On 1 April 1932 the parish was abolished and merged with Newcastle-under-Lyme. [5] In 1931 the parish had a population of 6861. [6] The main employer in Chesterton was Holditch Colliery.

The 2022 Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council election took place on 5 May 2022 to elect members of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council in England. [1] It was held on the same day as other local elections .
In 1995, legislation was passed through the House of Commons entitled the Jobseekers Act 1995. [10] [11] The Jobseeker's Allowance Regulations 1996 [12] were produced within a period of six months from the act coming into force, with the change of Income Support provision to Jobseekers Allowance occurring on 7 October 1996.
