The Chester Stakes is a Listed flat horse race in Great Britain open to horses aged three years or older. It is run at Chester over a distance of 1 mile, 6 furlongs and 87 yards (2,896 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in late August or early September.
The event is named after Huxley, a village located to the east of Chester. It was established in 1999, and the first running was won by Chester House. It initially held Listed status, and was promoted to Group 3 level in 2005. It was upgraded again to Group 2 level in 2018. [1] The trophy for the Huxley Stakes is known as the Tradesman's Cup.
