The Countryman is the chosen donor model and Prodrive have been selected to prepare the Mini Countryman WRC. The factory team competed in a reduced programme for the 2011 WRC season, before cutting funding. Prodrive will still produce all specs of the Countryman WRC cars, but will self fund a reduced programme for the 2012.
The Mini (developed as ADO15) is a small, two-door, four-seat car produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors, from 1959 until 2000. Minus a brief hiatus, original Minis were built for four decades and sold during five, from the last year of the 1950s into the last year of the 20th century, over a single generation, as fastbacks, estates, and convertibles.
At the time of its debut, the Mini Clubman was the largest Mini ever manufactured by the brand, measuring 427 centimetres (168.3 in) long and it is wider measuring 180 centimetres (70.9 in). It abandons the previous model's asymmetrical door layout for a standard four-door design, but it retains the rear barn doors.
The interior is similar to Cooper J01. There is a 9.44 in (24.0 cm) touchscreen (operated by MINI OS 9) is the only interior screen which has most of the vehicle functions, a few toggle switches for the essential functions, Mini's new Intelligent Personal Assistant called "Spike" (debuting in the Aceman), and eight selectable Mini Experience Modes.
