Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based in Askham Bryan, York, England. [1] [2] It also has centres in Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Saltaire and Wakefield. It was built in 1936, but not opened until after World War II as the Yorkshire Agricultural Institute. It first opened to students in 1948. [3]
The school was founded in 1989 as the Macmillan City Technology College, one of the first of 15 City Technology Colleges established in England. Its initial sponsors were the Macmillan Trust, a charity run by Macmillan Publishers , [ 1 ] [ 2 ] The school converted to academy status in 2006.

Newton Rigg College was an agricultural college near Penrith, Cumbria, England, founded in 1896 as the Cumberland and Westmorland Farm School. [1] From 2011 it was part of Askham Bryan College , which in 2020 announced that it would close in 2021.

Stewart Park is a 120-acre public park [1] in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, in the suburb and former village of Marton, England. [2] It holds a Green Flag Award from the Civic Trust. Askham Richard is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of City of York in the north of England, 6.5 miles (10.5 km) south-west of York, close to Copmanthorpe, Bilbrough and Askham Bryan. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 351. [1] The village became a Conservation Area in 1975.
