Avalon International Breads was established in 1997 in Detroit's Midtown/Cass Corridor neighborhood, [1] [4] [5] the creation of life partners Ann Perrault and Jackie Victor. [3] [6] Before opening the bakery, Perrault and Victor worked at Stonehouse Breads in Leland, Michigan, where they both baked and developed their future business plan. [7]
