The drawing is a study for a painted portrait, by Holbein, in the Louvre, Paris; [204] among the surviving copies are a late-16th-century one at the Lambeth Palace, the official London residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, and an early-17th-century one in the National Portrait Gallery, London.
