Ruthville is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Ward County, North Dakota, United States.Its population was 191 as of the 2010 census. [3] The town was named after Ruth Mackenroth during the Depression, and consisted of a grocery Store, and gas station for area farmers.
Despite this, Burlington is still the oldest city in Ward County, as well as north-western and north central North Dakota. On February 28, 1884, as it was the only city in the then-newly formed Imperial Ward County (now split into Ward , Renville , Mountrail , and Burke counties), it was made the county seat , a position it held until 1888.
