In platform diving, the diver jumps from a high stationary surface. The height of the platforms – 10 metres (33 ft), 7.5 metres (25 ft) and 5 metres (16 ft) – gives the diver enough time to perform the acrobatic movements of a particular dive. There are additional platforms set at 3 metres (9.8 ft) and 1 metre (3.3 ft).
This is a list of diving facilities, especially those including 10-meter diving platforms. This is usually the last feature of an athletics complex required for training and competition in the full program of Olympic swimming and diving.

The power law is often used in wind power assessments [4] [5] where wind speeds at the height of a turbine ( 50 metres) must be estimated from near surface wind observations (~10 metres), or where wind speed data at various heights must be adjusted to a standard height [6] prior to use.

It is the rate of increase of wind strength with unit increase in height above ground level. [ 5 ] [ 6 ] In metric units, it is often measured in units of meters per second of speed, per kilometer of height (m/s/km), which reduces inverse milliseconds (ms −1 ), a unit also used for shear rate .
