The town is bordered to the east by the city of Auburn. To the north are the towns of Montezuma and Throop, and to the south are the towns of Springport and Fleming. Conjoined US 20 and NY 5 is a major east–west highway. New York State Route 90 is a north–south highway along the shore of Cayuga Lake.
