Fort Martin Scott is a restored United States Army outpost near Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country, United States, that was active from December 5, 1848, until April, 1853. [2] It was part of a line of frontier forts established to protect travelers and settlers within Texas .
The Pioneer Memorial Library is located at 115 W. Main Street, Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, in the U.S. state of Texas.Designed by Alfred Giles, it was built in 1882 to replace the original 1855 courthouse, and was later superseded by the current 1939 courthouse designed by Edward Stein. [2]

Located at 117 San Antonio Street and designated a recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1980, marker number 10021, Gillespie County's first jail was a 14 ft (4.3 m) by 14 ft (4.3 m) building erected in 1852. John Raegner and John Walch constructed the second jail out of stone and iron near the courthouse for $413.50.
The Fredericksburg Historic District is located in Fredericksburg, Texas in Gillespie County. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in Texas on October 14, 1970 [ 2 ] The district area coincides with the original platting of the town by Herman Wilke, and the streets are laid out in a wide grid.
They migrated to Wheeling, West Virginia, but decided on the destination of Texas in 1851. In 1852, the two families bought a 320-acre farm for $400 in the settlement of Pedernales, Texas, near Fredericksburg and took up farming and cattle ranching. [6] The families remained there until 1864, although Petri drowned in the Pedernales River in 1857.

Friedrich Richard Petri was born on July 31, 1824, in Dresden, Kingdom of Saxony to master shoemaker Heinrich Petri and his wife Juliane Dorothea (Weise) Petri. [1]At age fourteen, Petri was enrolled at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts where he would remain for eleven years under the tutelage and guidance of Adrian Ludwig Richter and Julius Hübner.
