Jan Janse de Weltevree (1595 – not known), also known by his Korean name Pak Yŏn (Korean: 박연), was a Dutch sailor and likely the first Dutch visitor to Korea. His adventures were recorded in the report by Dutch East India Company accountant Hendrik Hamel .
The first Dutchman attested to have made contact with Korea was Jan Jansz Weltevree, who arrived in n 1627 to find drinking water and settled in Korea.
