    www.avsforum.com/threads/ask-the-editors-what’s-the-best-43″-non-smart-4k...

With 4K, the bigger the screen, the better. To summarize, regardless of which TV you buy, use a remote control instead of a smartphone to control your TV, and don't connect your TV to the Internet—use your Roku. Voilà! Your 4K HDR smart TV can't spy on you or serve unsolicited ads to you.

  3. Solved! Is there any 50+" 4K TV That's not "smart" - Tom's Guide...

103,240. Jun 22, 2018. Solution. #9. The cost of "educating" a TV isn't that high. Certainly less than the cost of a streaming stick or box since there is less or no additional hardware needed in most cases. Leaving it out of a higher quality TV limits the potential buyers so they all chose to include smart apps.

Alternatively configure a "guest-network", connect the TV to the guest network and then block the guest network from the Internet. Multiple ways to prevent a "Smart TV" from accessing the internet. You just have to be smarter than the average bear or maybe TV.

Seiki 42" 4K (HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2) SE42UM. Looks like a new 2015 42" 4K tv from Seiki. They are few and far between on info for the tv and Seiki's own website has nothing on it but I did find model SE42UMS on amazon with the specs of 3 HDMI 2.0 ports and HDCP 2.2. Is this the same model? $299 certainly seems like a steal for it if true @ hhgregg ...

No one is going to make a TV without 4K anymore. The upscaling is excellent in most cases (just as a 1080 tv has had to upscale 720 and 480 content all these years). No one is going to make a TV without smart features. They already need an OS to run the system, and using one with smart features costs nothing extra.

No "good" non-smart TVs out there...I don't believe there are any HDR non smart TVs either (not quite sure about 4k, only non smart I see is 1080p)...I haven't seen any non smart over 50 inches either (now that I think about it, I believe there is a 55 inch 1080p Insignia)...these are okay-ish TVs that are okay for people who don't really care ...
