The Kal-Haven Trail, formally known as the Kal-Haven Trail Sesquicentennial State Park, is a rail trail in the US that originally ran 33.5 miles (53.9 km) between South Haven, Michigan, to a point just west of the city of Kalamazoo, Michigan, where there is a trailhead.
During 2009 the trail segment from Rose Park in Kalamazoo to Mosel avenue was completed. This section includes a 14 ft. wide bridge over the Kalamazoo River at Paterson Street. In 2010, construction began on a 5-mile section from Mosel Avenue to D Avenue. This segment of trail goes through Markin Glen Park and the Kalamazoo Nature Center.
Al Sabo Preserve is an area of northeastern Texas Township, in southwestern Kalamazoo County, Michigan. It comprises 741 acres (3.00 km 2 ) of marsh , forest , streams , and rolling hills. Numerous trails provide recreational opportunities throughout the Preserve.

Much of the canal is clearly visible in parks and along Canal Road in Clinton Township. In River Bends Park multiple mountain biking and hiking trails run along the edge of the canal. The remains of the aqueduct built over the Clinton River can be seen in Yates Park, and two wood dams can be seen in the river in Canal Park and Bloomer Park.
Continuing on the old railbed the trail has a connection to a township trail through Caledonia Lakeside Park before reaching Main St in the Village of Caledonia. At this point, the trail transitions to sidewalks and sharrows through the village until South Maple St and Kinsey St, where the trail resumes its southeastward course.
