The Dragonlance Chronicles is a trilogy of fantasy novels written by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, which take place in the Dragonlance setting. This series is the first set of Dragonlance novels, and is followed by the Dragonlance Legends series.

Margaret Edith Weis (/ w aɪ s /; born March 16, 1948) is an American fantasy and science fiction author of dozens of novels and short stories. At TSR, Inc. , she teamed with Tracy Hickman to create the Dragonlance role-playing game (RPG) world.
Like many Dragonlance novels, the War of Souls trilogy can be read as stand alone novels or in series order. The three books in the series are Dragons of a Fallen Sun, Dragons of a Lost Star, and Dragons of a Vanished Moon, all of which were co-authored by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.
Then in 2002, Margaret Weis's company Sovereign Press acquired the license to publish 3rd Edition Dragonlance material. [ 9 ] [ 10 ] The official update, Dragonlance Campaign Setting , was published in 2003 for the 3.5 Edition; it moved the timeline to 422 AC and was set six months "after the end of the War of Souls trilogy (2000–2002)".
