John Michael Scalzi II (born May 10, 1969) is an American science fiction author and former president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. He is best known for his Old Man's War series , three novels of which have been nominated for the Hugo Award , and for his blog Whatever , where he has written on a number of topics since 1998.

Garden City is a city in and the county seat of Finney County, Kansas, United States. [2] As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 28,151. [4] [5] The city is home to Garden City Community College and the Lee Richardson Zoo, the largest zoological park in western Kansas.
John Anthony Scalzi (March 22, 1907 – September 27, 1962) was a Major League Baseball player. He played one season with the Boston Braves between June 19 and 24, 1931. [ 1 ] He also played seven games for the Brooklyn Dodgers of the NFL in 1931.
