The 2024 World Para Ice Hockey Championships was the 13th edition of World Para Ice Hockey Championships (originally named IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships) held in 2024. The tournament was held in Calgary, Alberta in Canada from 4 to 12 May. [1] [2]
The 2023 World Para Ice Hockey Championships was the 12th edition of World Para Ice Hockey Championships (originally named IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships) held in 2023. The tournament was hosted by Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in Canada from May 28 to June 3. It was the first time Canada has ever hosted the Championships. [1]
The first sanctioned World Para Ice Hockey Championships were held in Nynäshamn, Sweden in 1996. [ 1 ] On 30 November 2016, the IPC, which serves as the international governing body for 10 disability sports, adopted the "World Para" branding across all of those sports.
