Interstate 35 (I-35 [a]) is a major north–south Interstate Highway that runs from Laredo, Texas near the Mexican border to Duluth, Minnesota. In Texas , the highway begins in Laredo and runs north to the Red River north of Gainesville , where it crosses into Oklahoma .
At this point, FM 1325 joins Loop 1 and continues north for 1.5 miles (2.4 km) as a limited-access highway. North of FM 734 (Parmer Lane), the main lanes of Mopac Expressway become a limited-access toll road. The frontage road here uses the FM 1325 and Loop 1 designations. This concurrency continues for 1.8 miles (2.9 km) to Merrilltown Road.
The highway splits into I-35E and I-35W in two separate places, the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex in Texas and at the Minnesota twin cities of Minneapolis–Saint Paul. At 1,568 miles (2,523 km), I-35 is the ninth-longest Interstate Highway following I-94, and it is the third-longest north–south Interstate Highway, following I-75 and I-95.

Loop 363 was designated on June 26, 1962, running from I-35 to US 190. On July 30, 1965, Loop 363 was extended northwestward from I-35 to SH 36. On January 31, 1967, Loop 363 was extended eastward concurrent with US 190 and northward to I-35. On February 25, 1987, Loop 363 was extended from I-35 to SH 36, completing its current route.
