Being and Nothingness: An Essay on Phenomenological Ontology (French: L'Être et le néant : Essai d'ontologie phénoménologique), sometimes published with the subtitle A Phenomenological Essay on Ontology, is a 1943 book by the philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre.
The same remarks apply to the part of the lead stating that Being and Nothingness is the "most important non-fiction expression of Sartre's existentialism": again, there are no sources stating in so many words that expressing existentialism is one of the key aspects of the book.
