Peekskill is a city in northwestern Westchester County, New York, United States, 35 miles (56 km) north of New York City. Established as a village in 1816, it was incorporated as a city in 1940. It lies on a bay along the east side of the Hudson River, across from Jones Point in Rockland County.
The Peekskill Downtown Historic District is a historic district located in the downtown section of Peekskill in the U.S. state of New York.It includes the 40 acres (160,000 m 2) along Main, Division, South, Park, Bank, Brown, First and Esther streets, and Central and Union avenues, near where those streets intersect.

Villa Loretto is a historic institutional building located at Peekskill, Westchester County, New York. It was built in 1928 by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd for the housing and treatment of young delinquent women. It is a three- to four-story, H-shaped brick building containing more than 175,000 square feet. The facility closed in June 1975. [2]

Cortlandt Manor is a hamlet—an unincorporated section—of the town of Cortlandt in northern Westchester County, New York, roughly surrounding Peekskill, encompassing Corlandt Estates and lying east of three sections of the town of Cortlandt, Croton-on-Hudson, Crugers, and Montrose. It is a mostly residential area.
