Minot State University (MSU or MiSU) is a public university in Minot, North Dakota. Founded in 1913 as a normal school , MSU evolved into a university in 1987 and is currently the state's third-largest, offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
By the 1910 census, Minot had outgrown Bismarck, to become the third largest city in the state. By 1970, however, Bismarck had regained that position. [ 22 ] [ 23 ] The Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railway, nicknamed the Soo Line for Sault Ste. Marie's pronunciation, [ 24 ] was the second railroad to reach Minot, in 1893. [ 25 ]
Herb Parker Stadium is an outdoor 4,500-seat multi-purpose stadium in the north central United States, located on the campus of Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota. The venue is home to the MSU Beavers football and women's soccer teams. It was named in 1983 for Herb Parker, the long-time coach and athletic director.

The Minot State University Beavers won NAIA national championships in men's cross country in 2002 and 2003, the only team national championships in the school's history. In January 2011, MSU was admitted to the NSIC with the University of Sioux Falls , also transitioning from the NAIA to NCAA Division II.
