Beale Park is one of the most equipped city parks in Bakersfield. It has two reservable picnic areas, seating 80 people each. They are both uncovered, and are each equipped with a barbecue, and lights. There are several individual picnic areas, which can seat 8 to 16 people. Some of them are equipped with a barbecue and some others are covered.
In 2004, an aquatics center was constructed in downtown Bakersfield. Around the same time, many local pools in public parks, including Jasto Park, were in need of refurbishment. The city decided to remove the pool at Jastro Park instead of refurbish it. The pool was removed and replaced with a spray park. [4]
On August 22, the land was incorporated into the city's park system (the same day as Central Park). The same day, the bid from MacRorie and McLaren Company was accepted for its development. [2] This also represented part of Bakersfield's early development of East Bakersfield (formerly Sumner and Kern City) which was annexed in 1910.
It is also the location of the Spectrum Amphitheater (formerly known as the Bright House Amphitheater, before the company's corporate restructuring in August 2016), one of two large outdoor theaters in Bakersfield (the other is the Outdoor Theater at Bakersfield College). The park is located next to the Kern River Bike Trail.

Nov. 25—Citing a continued struggle to protect its most vulnerable residents from unlawful evictions, the city of Bakersfield is instituting a first-of-its-kind Eviction Protection Program.
Hart Park is 370 acres (150 ha), which makes it one of the larger parks in Bakersfield. It has two lakes and three canals. There are several "sections" which can be rented for large gatherings. There are also several large fields for lawn sports, and baseball backstops. [4] There is one large reservable picnic area (one of two in Kern River Park).
