In philately, the Higgins & Gage World Postal Stationery Catalog is the most recent encyclopedic catalogue of postal stationery covering the whole world. Despite most volumes not having been updated for over thirty years, the catalogue and the H & G numbering system are still widely used by philatelists and stamp dealers although the values given in the catalogue are out of date.
About 120 are specialized stamps from the US Specialized Catalogue. About 1180 are used stamp images that Scott is replacing with mint images in the general world catalogues or are poorly centered stamps that they are replacing with F to VF centered stamps. Only a handful of black and white images are left in the world catalogues.
In 1901, W. B. Mason's rubber stamps store received a $1.50 disbursement from the City Engineer of Brockton, Massachusetts alongside 24 other businesses, some of whom received over $100. [8] By 1912, it was referred to as a "stamp, stencil, and printing business." [9] William Betts Mason ran the company until his death in 1912.
