The Allegheny Observatory is an American astronomical research institution, a part of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh.The facility is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (ref. # 79002157, added June 22, 1979) [3] and is designated as a Pennsylvania state [4] and Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation [5] historic landmark.
Per the October 17, 2019 issue of Pittsburgh Magazine, the area is also becoming Pittsburgh's new Chinatown with an influx of mainland Chinese students from Carnegie Mellon University. [8] The area celebrates Chinese New Year annually with a parade. [9] The area as of 2017 was about 17% Asian. [10]
The Manchester Bridge opened in 1915, and connected the North Shore to The Point of Pittsburgh. The bridge was demolished in 1970, with the northern pier left standing for a proposed observation deck that was never built. In 2009, the pier was made into an arched walkway leading up to a statue of Fred Rogers.

Bethel Park (officially the Municipality of Bethel Park [3]) is a borough with home rule status [4] in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is a suburb within the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, located approximately 7 miles (11 km) south of Pittsburgh. The population was 33,577 as of the 2020 census.
