The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared the first continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) for over-the-counter sale—a major win for health freedom and common sense.

In the summer, the FDA approved two more devices that don't need a doctor's prescription. Lingo, created by Abbott, was designed for people 18 and older without diabetes.
This is known as continuous glucose monitoring. CGMs are used by people who treat their diabetes with insulin, for example people with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or other types of diabetes, such as gestational diabetes.
