The council is based at Bexhill Town Hall on London Road in Bexhill, which was built in 1895 for the Bexhill Urban District Council, which became Bexhill Borough Council in 1902. The building continued to serve as the seat of local government following the reorganisation in 1974 which created Rother District.

The local board of health, which was established in July 1884, initially met in the Bell Hotel in Church Street before using a room at Dorset Cottage in Hastings Road from May 1885 and then a room at the Bexhill Institute in Station Road from 1893. Sidley is a village on the outskirts of Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex, England. Its governance falls within the jurisdiction of the Charter Trustees town of Bexhill. It is also a ward of Rother district council. In 1828 Sidley played host to the 'Battle of Sidley Green'. [3] It is home to 2 primary schools, Sidley C.P and All Saints CoE.
At Bexhill the land begins to rise again where the sands and clays of the Weald meet the sea; these culminate in the sandstone cliffs east of Hastings. Further east are the Pett Levels, more marshland, beyond which is the estuary of the River Rother .
When it was first opened, the college was known as St. Richard's Roman Catholic School; it was named after St. Richard of Chichester (1197–1253), who visited Bexhill during his lifetime. It is probable that St. Richard built the manor house at Manor Barn, found in the ancient Old Town of Bexhill-on-Sea, the ruins of which are still visible today.
The constituency is predominantly rural, like Wealden to the west. The main towns are the shingle-beach resort of Bexhill-on-Sea and the historic town of Battle. Electoral Calculus describes the seat as "Strong Right" characterised by retired, socially conservative voters who strongly supported Brexit.
High Woods is a 33.7-hectare (83-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest on the northern outskirts of Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex. [1] [2] It is owned by Rother District Council and managed by Highwoods Preservation Society. [3] This site has several different habitats, including the only area of sessile oak coppice in the county.
