Carolina Theater was a historic movie theater located at Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina. It was built in 1927, and was an oversize two-story brick rectangular building in the Moorish Revival style. The front facade featured terra cotta, clay, brickwork, and decorative stone or concrete friezework.
Its first theater was the Park Terrace in Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded by Herman Stone, it was once part of The Stone Group. The theaters usually had upwards of 10 auditoriums, which in some cases, drove older competitors with fewer screens out of business. Consolidated Theaters was acquired by Regal Entertainment Group on May 1, 2008.
Stone is a 2010 American crime thriller film directed by John Curran, written by Angus MacLachlan, and starring Robert De Niro, Edward Norton and Milla Jovovich. Most of the filming was done in Washtenaw County, Michigan . [ 2 ]
