The Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI) began operating on July 1, 2005. CARLI was formed through the consolidation of existing consortia: Illinois Cooperative Collection Management Program (ICCMP), Illinois Digital Academic Library (IDAL), and Illinois Library Computer Systems Organization (ILCSO).
The University of Illinois Archives is also the repository for the American Library Association's archives. [ 50 ] [ 51 ] It includes the Student Life and Culture Archives, which, since its foundation in 1989, has focused on preserving documents related to its titular student life and culture on the campus. [ 52 ]
In 2001, the library initiated a Local History Digital Archive. [4] The archive is a collection of digitized photographs, videos, and documents relating to Schaumburg Township history. To date, over 60,000 items have been posted on the archive and are viewable through either a keyword search or browsing by subject.

Electronic Records Archive. The Electronic Records Archives (ERA) is a program of the United States National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to preserve electronic records as part of the U.S. government's broader records management process. The program began in 1998 [1] and started to accept records in 2008. [2]
