Richard David Shepherd CBE FRSA FGRA (25 April 1931 – 19 September 2017) [1] was a British artist and one of the world's most outspoken conservationists. [2] He was most famous for his paintings of steam locomotives (he owned a number of them) and wildlife, although he also often painted aircraft, portraits (notably The Queen Mother) and landscapes.
The Guild of Railway Artists (GRA) is a British-based art guild whose members are painters of railway subjects. Membership can be applied for by submitting examples of one's work. "Friends" of the Guild are supporters of the guild who are not necessarily accomplished railway artists themselves.

On closure of the LMR 92203 moved to Eastleigh Depot, and then in 1973 to the East Somerset Railway, where it was based until 1998.
