The Nordic 40 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of single laminate fiberglass, with a balsa-cored deck and teak wood trim. It has a masthead sloop rig with painted aluminum spars, a raked stem, a reverse transom, a skeg-mounted rudder controlled by a wheel and a fixed fin keel.
Nordic 44 This model was introduced in 1980 and produced until 1989, with 39 boats built by Nordic Yachts. It has a length overall of 43.83 ft (13.4 m), a waterline length of 35.42 ft (10.8 m). The boat has a draft of 7.00 ft (2.13 m) with the standard keel and 5.5 ft (1.7 m) with the optional shoal draft keel.

Its cabin has 5 feet of standing headroom and it is remarkably roomy for a 20 footer, although some of this space was achieved at the expense of a smaller cockpit." [5]
