Glee – Season 1, Volume 2: Road to Regionals contains the final nine episodes of the first season. It was released on Region 2 DVD in the UK and Ireland on September 13, 2010, [ 151 ] [ 152 ] Region 1 DVD in the US on September 14, 2010, [ 153 ] and on Region 4 DVD in Australia and New Zealand on September 22, 2010.

As the season progressed, however, Glee began to utilize fantasy sequences, with paraplegic character Artie imagining himself dancing to "The Safety Dance", and six separate characters performing a fantasy version of "Like a Virgin". On September 21, 2009, the network announced an extension of the first season, [1] ordering a further nine episodes, [2] of which "Hell-O" is the first. In the UK, the episode was watched by 2.149 million viewers (1.752 million on E4, and 397,000 on E4+1), becoming the most-watched show on E4 and E4 +1 for the week, and one of the most-watched show on cable for the week, as well as the most-watched episode of the series at the time.
