The Pickerel River is a river in the Canadian province of Ontario. Essentially a secondary arm of the larger French River system, the river extends from its headwaters in the Loring and Restoule area of the Almaguin Highlands in the northern part of Parry Sound District to Georgian Bay .

Sioux Lookout is a town in Northwestern Ontario, Canada, with a population of 5,838 people (up 10.8% since 2016). [2] Known locally as the "Hub of the North", it is serviced by the Sioux Lookout Airport , Highway 72 , and the Sioux Lookout railway station .
The township includes the communities of Berriedale, Carss, Chetwynd, Katrine and Pickerel Lake. Katrine overlooks Doe Lake, which is located on the west side of the village. Three Mile Lake and Deer Lake are located about 5 km east of the village. There is also a small public beach on Doe Lake, and a community centre located on Ontario Highway 11.
