Megalodon is a 2004 American horror film. It takes place out on a deep-sea oil rig. When a deep sea drilling platform penetrates the sea bed in Greenland, it unleashes a prehistoric shark of enormous power and proportions known as megalodon. It is known in the UK and other territories as Sharkzilla.
The film received mixed reviews from critics, but was a box office success, grossing over $530 million worldwide against a production budget of $130–178 million. A sequel, Meg 2: The Trench , was released in 2023, with Georgaris and the Hoebers returning as writers and Statham, Curtis, Sophia Cai and Page Kennedy reprising their roles.
