The Daffodil Festival is a regional festival and royalty leadership program. The Grand Floral Parade is held in Pierce County, Washington , every April. It consists of a flower parade and a year-long royalty program to select a festival queen from one of the 24 area high schools.
From 1937 to 1941, a Daffodil Festival attracted tourists to the area to see the vast acres of yellow blossoms. In March 1942 the organizing committee suspended the festivities due to World War II. It resumed in 1987. It went on hiatus again in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and returned in 2021. [2]
The Festival's parent organization, the Nantucket Film Foundation, features off-season screening with the Nantucket Dreamland Foundation including NFF Now and the Summer Film Screenings. The NFF Teen View program is a filmmaking workshop series and intensive course free to Nantucket teenagers. [7]
