Thanks for posting the reference to Hiatus Campers. I just sent them an email asking if they can replace the pop-up portion of my FWC camper with their hard side pop up top. The rigid, composite panels they use for the folding walls are made out of fiberglass and plastic. These are by nature waterproof.

A number of owners still bolt their campers through the camper floor and truck bed, but these are the folks who rarely remove their campers. Most do use the turnbuckle method, and that requires eyebolts in the bed of the truck, and some type of a plate or eyebolt attached to the part of the camper that extends over the side of the bed.

I'm getting a 700fds Pastime Truck camper. They are built for small trucks. I have a Tacoma. Does anyone have any experience with these campers? I'm interested in how it handles on your truck. Any suspension modifications you made. How it affected gas mileage. How you like the camper generally speaking.
