Just noticed this weeks Ollies warehouse ad is showing a bunch of Lindberg kits. Says they were bought from in insurance company after a fire in California destroyed a warehouse.....says 60% off retail....gotta check it out, thers a couple sort of near here.
That e-mail mentions kits manufactured exclusively for Ollie's, but the two kits I saw earlier today have been available elsewhere. In fact, the local IPMS chapter met earlier this week, and those of us who entered the "summer challenge" had to bring our finished models.
This is one of two AMT 1/25 scale 1959 Cadillac Ambulance kits that was scored a number of months ago at Ollies. Wanted to tint the windows after the interior had been detailed and it seemed a waste to do that. On the next and different version, perhaps, tinted windows will happen.
We've been bee-bopping around the New England area for the past week. On this trip I broke out the Coke Willys Gasser. This guy has required some time to make everything fit. I got the cab and hood to sit at a reasonable level by shimming the cab. I also put a length of .060 half round around the cab to give the interior tub a "stop".

Beautiful!!!! Your concept and execution is amazing and the paint looks flawless. The paint separation gives the effect of the body being sectioned.

We are road tripping this week. I brought 2 kits and 3 engines to build while parked in the evening. I built one of these for my Daughter In Law last year for her office. I really like this kit. I am going to make a few changes though. I dropped the front end and may drop the rear a tad.
At the March '24 show, I picked up a card for the November '24 show. Show date November 17th... today I saw an edited card online showing the date as November 10th..
