I come to you guys in need of some clarification and confirmation; I've been entertaining myself with a little project gun lately. I've got a Rem 700 SPS in .300 BLK that I want to work up a consistent performing load to throw subsonics out as far as I can (repeatably). Most of the information...
Please explain to me why anyone would choose a .300 Blackout Out over a .308. I can definately see the draw in an AR platform where you can shoot sub and super sonic ammo without making any adjustments but doesn't a .308 offer better everything (ballistics, component availability, etc.) when...
Would like to pick your collective brain on 300 blk bolt guns. I will be buying a 30 cal suppressor and would like to have a 300 blk bolt gun. I would prefer Remington footprint for obvious reasons. But they are pricier than the Ruger American and the Savage Axiss II. Of the Ruger and Savage...
I saw discussion on this a long ago, and how certain actions just wouldn't eject the little 300 spent case correctly. I would prefer to build another Tikka into a 300blk, but I'm under the impression that may not go so well... I don't keep up with the current actions very well, so what are the...
I’m wanting to get a 300 Blackout bolt action for strictly suppressor use. How accurate is the Rem 700 SPS 16” 300BO? I just picked up a 700 SS Milspec 223 16” 1-9 twist for a steal. I have heard mixed reviews about it’s accuracy but the first two 5 round groups with different ammo were much less than .5 moa. So how is the Blackout?
Re: 300 Blackout and 308 bolt action suppressed Another way to look at it is with my 300 whisper bolt gun and a 16in barrel I can run 220s on up with the can and have a nice quiet and short package and run 110vmaxs supersonic that hit harder that most 223/556 stuff again in a nice and short package.
Didn't find what I wanted in a search so, What are you guys using in loading .300 blackout that tends to be quiet, low flash, and clean. Possible for all 3? A quick burning powder is typically the quieter right?
Re: 300 blackout savage bolt i have less than 650 in the entire set up less reloading equipment. so i thought i came out pretty well. gun shows and swap meets really help. also i am able to control all aspects of the rifle and make it the way i want. as far as time goes it took one month to build and test so it was a fairly fast project.
I was looking at getting into a 300blk bolt gun for subs, but with the cost of everything, I was wondering if there’s any difference really in the round vs a 308 subsonic? I’m already set up to load 308.
Re: Thoughts on a 300 Blackout bolt gun A friend and I were discussing this very same thing a few days ago. What we came up with is that it made more sense to build a .308. Subsonic they both use basically the same amount of powder, same projectiles. Supersonic the .308 is the clear winner.
