The season aired from July to September 2014 on Tokyo MX, TVO, TVA, TVQ, BS Dlife and AT-X. [1] The season adapts the first 66 chapters of the manga.
A 12-episode second season, titled Tokyo Ghoul √A (pronounced Tokyo Ghoul Root A), which follows an original story, aired from January to March 2015. A live-action film based on the manga was released in Japan in July 2017, with a sequel being released in July 2019.

Yutaka is an alumnus of the Senzoku Gakuen College of Music in Japan, where he studied musical composition under Toshiyuki Watanabe and Masataka Matsuo.
