Yes, Luna Display will enable you to use your 2020 iMac with a 27" display as a monitor for a Mac mini after the initial setup process. For this setup, you'll need a USB-C Luna unit , which plugs directly into your Mac mini.
My Mac Mini comes in tomorrow and I've had a lot of people tell me that 1080p is dated technology. That it's antiquated and that the new standard is 4k minimum. This seems weird to me, considering by all measures most people aren't using 4k TV's yet, let alone monitors, and steam statistics tell us the majority are on 1080p while only 2% are ...
I’m purchasing a new Mac Mini M2 Pro and I’m just not sure what monitor to buy. I've read quite a few articles on the forum about resolutions, HiDPI and other things that you might encounter when buying a monitor for a Mac Mini. So I'm choosing between a monitor with a resolution of 1440p...
With the threads multiplying about monitor choices for the Mac mini M1 and since I got many likes about my proposition to create a wiki thread listing compatible monitors, I decided to create a wiki thread where everyone could contribute. If you have a monitor which is compatible with the Mac mini, please list it here below.
The other options I can imagine right now for the 2018 Mac Mini are: 1. HDMI to Mini DisplayPort. 2. I have a CalDigit TS3 Plus dock that I connect to the Mac Mini over Thunderbolt 3. The dock has a DisplayPort output port. Potentially I can find a cable (or adapter) that takes the dock DisplayPort output *as* Mini DisplayPort input on the monitor.
HDMI from Mac Mini to a TV or monitor not working? I had that problem too.-Fairly new Mac Mini, and our only display is a 2019 Samsung 50" TV. The TV says "No Signal" whether using a HDMI cable from the HDMI port, or the USB-3 to HDMI cable. Tried various combinations of ports and cables. I found one way to make it work: 1.
So I might get a new M4 device next week if released Currently have a M1 iMac but fancy a 27” screen and the possible redesign looks nice for the Mac mini What monitor options are like the iMac on screen res ? 4k IPs or oled ? 60hz or more ? Display port 2.1 or HDMI 2.1 ? USB C ? Needs...
It seems the monitor compatibility with the M1 Mac minis is not the same as with the M2 Mac minis. I was hoping the M2 Mac minis would improve compatibility, but I've seen at least one post now that says his/her monitor doesn't wake up with the M2 Mac mini even though it worked with the M1. I can't seem to find the post now though.
Looking for a touch screen (USB-C) that actually fully works with a mac MINI m1. I tried the Eyoyo USB-C unit and while it works brilliantly with Windows, it falls rather short on macOS...also it is a tad big at 13"...want something closer to mac MINI size, or even a tad bigger is fine.
I just did a little experiment with my mac mini M1. I usually have it connected via HDMI, giving me 2560x1440 as the highest HiDPI res. I now have a HyperDrive USB-C to DisplayPort, with a DisplayPort to HDMI converter. Because the mac mini sees it as a DP (over USB), I suddenly get the 3008x1692 resolution.
