Ian Fraser Kilmister (24 December 1945 – 28 December 2015), better known as Lemmy Kilmister or simply Lemmy, was a British musician. He was the founder, lead singer, bassist and primary songwriter of the rock band Motörhead , of which he was the only continuous member, and a member of Hawkwind from 1971 to 1975.

The Head Cat is an American rockabilly supergroup formed by vocalist/bassist Lemmy (of Motörhead), drummer Slim Jim Phantom (of the Stray Cats) and guitarist Danny B. Harvey (of Lonesome Spurs and the Rockats). Lemmy died in 2015 and as of 2017, former Morbid Angel member David Vincent took Lemmy's place as vocalist and bassist. [2]
Born on 21 September 1954 in Hasland, Derbyshire, Taylor grew up in Leeds, Yorkshire.He took drum lessons at Leeds College of Music on advice from his father. After first meeting Lemmy whilst he was still in Hawkwind in 1973, who was a fellow speed user, he joined Motörhead and replaced Lucas Fox during the recording of the band's first album On Parole in 1975.

Clarke was working on re-fitting a houseboat, when he met drummer Phil Taylor, [4] who had recently joined Motörhead.However, according to Kilmister's authorized biography, [5] it appears that Clarke was introduced to Lemmy by a receptionist at the rehearsal studio, Gertie, who was romantically involved with Clarke at the time.
The band is however best-remembered for launching the career of Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister of Motörhead, then known as Ian Willis. They were originally called Rev Black and the Rockin' Vicars, then abbreviated it to the Rockin' Vicars, but to get more gigs or even a chance at a record contract, they changed their name to "Rockin' Vickers".
