"Chavo" is a Mexican Spanish slang for "kid" or "boy"; Chavo's real name is unknown, but is supposed to be Chente, short for Vicente, after a supposed friend that nobody has ever met and according to Chavo, looks a lot like himself.
El Chavo del Ocho ("The Kid/Boy from number Eight", Spanish chavo also meaning "cent") or El Chavo is a Mexican fictional character and the protagonist of the Mexican television sitcom series of the same name.
The titular character, El Chavo (meaning "the kid or "the boy"), whose real name is never revealed, is an eight-year-old orphan boy who lives in a neighborhood where he and several other characters, both residents and non-residents, interact with each other on a daily basis.
El Chavo Animado features all the characters of the original series, with the exception of La Chilindrina due to ownership disputes. The series stars El Chavo, a poor boy, along with his gang, which consists of Quico, the exhibitionist and protected son of Doña Florinda, and Ñoño, a fat boy which is Señor Barriga's son.
