"Ohio Is for Lovers", also known as simply "Ohio", is a song by American rock band Hawthorne Heights, released as the debut single from their debut studio album, The Silence in Black and White, which was released in 2004. According to lead singer JT Woodruff, the song is about going on tour whilst leaving their girlfriends in Ohio. [10]
The two lead singles from their 2004 debut album, "Ohio Is for Lovers" and "Niki FM" both charted on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart. They are also well known for their 2006 single "Saying Sorry", which reached Gold status [3] and peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. [5]
In May 2005, they shot a music video for "Niki FM" with director Major Lightner. A two-disc CD and DVD special edition was released on June 14, 2005, containing demo and acoustic versions of the tracks, live performances, and a documentary with footage of the band. The video then shows Woodruff in his bedroom, tearing a picture of her in two. He falls asleep and dreams about her. The scene changes back to the female's bedroom, where she notices Woodruff standing outside of her window, holding a radio (hence the line, "I'm outside of your window, with my radio.").
