Like the Clouds, Like the Wind (Japanese: 雲のように 風のように, Hepburn: Kumo no yō ni Kaze no yō ni) is a Japanese anime television film produced by Studio Pierrot. An adaptation of the 1989 novel Kōkyū Shōsetsu by Ken'ichi Sakemi. It was broadcast on the Nippon Television Network System on March 21, 1990 (Vernal Equinox Day). [1]
The anime was broadcast on Fuji TV in 2002. [4] A second season titled Ai Yori Aoshi: Enishi (藍より青し ～縁～) was set two years later and aired in 2003. [5] There are 37 episodes total, counting an alternate-continuity Christmas special. The anime was released in North America by Geneon and the manga was released in English by Tokyopop.
After its release in Japan, the anime was licensed for a DVD release by Geneon Entertainment, with a subsequent television broadcast on Fuse in the United States. The show was also distributed to Australian, British and Canadian anime markets. Since its release, Ergo Proxy has received mostly favorable reviews which praised its visuals and themes.
A two-episode spin-off anime, titled Petit Cool Doji Danshi no Hitokoma, premiered on NTT Docomo's dTV streaming service on March 21 and March 28, 2023. It is produced by Aqua Aris, with Yū Hayata directing and providing the character designs, and Mao Emura writing the screenplay.

On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the series holds an approval rating of 83% based on 6 reviews with an average rating of 5.9/10.
